Travelling north I passed through Grafton, NSW, where the Jacaranda Festival in full swing. The trees are splendidly jacaranda blue, except for one avenue of white jacarandas… White jacaranda in Grafton Photo Louise McDaid

There are events galore with a contest for the best shop window display and the crowning of Jacaranda Queen. Residents get right into the spirit of things, all wearing something jacaranda colour and the tree-lined streets are spectacular!
