Crossing the NSW Blue Mountains bicentenary – a range of activities will be occurring in 2013 to mark the bicentenary of the crossing of the Blue Mountains by explorers Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth.
The Blue Mountains Zone of The Garden Clubs of Australia has announced a special celebration. Over three days in April 2013 at venues throughout the Blue Mountains, speakers will chart the development of gardening in the region. Gardeners Angus Stewart and Jerry Coleby-Williams will join Darug speaker and educator Bundeluk, historian Prof. Ian Jack and author Allison Halliday in this wide-ranging program.
Angus will also launch a plant to celebrate the bicentenary. It is an everlasting daisy, which will be named through a student competition. The seminars will be held on April 12-14, 2013. For more information contact Blue Mountains Zone Coordinator, Barrie Redshaw on (02) 4759 2168.
