Colorado has passed legislation prohibiting Homeowners Associations (HOA) from mandating the inclusion of large areas of lawn in gardens.
Some HOAs had required homeowners to allocate up to 50% of their landscape to lawn, which had generated many complaints. Instead, homeowners will be able to make their own choices about installing what they feel are more environmentally responsible, waterwise landscapes.
