A courtyard show garden by Richard Boobyer has won the Waikato Home and Garden Show’s NZ Landscape Designer of the Year.
The courtyard design of interlocking rectangles is created by a gabion-enclosed pond and timber deck and bridge and features sustainably sourced materials, subtle neutrals, strong textural contrasts and native plants and grasses.
Designer Richard Boobyer says his design “offered a practical, modern twist for the busy couple who don’t have a lot of time, but want to enjoy their outdoor space with friends”.
Boobyer has a diploma in landscape design and was a contestant on The Block NZ. His design and construction company Landscape Concepts by Richard offers landscape design and project management through Waikato, Auckland and Hamilton.
