How can you stop mosquitos from breeding in water-filled pot saucers?
Dr Cameron Webb, specialist in mosquito ecology at the Department of Medical Entomology, Sydney University, spoke this morning on breakfast Radio702 Sydney about a sensible and easily-managed way of keeping mosquitos from breeding in the shallow, often water-filled saucers underneath plant pots on decks and paving.
Fill the saucers with SAND. The sand still allows plenty of room for water draining out of the pot, but there’s no free-standing water in which mosquitos can lay their eggs. Now that is CLEVER.
