A truss type tomato grown by retired UK bus driver Surjit Kainth has broken the record for the most number of tomatoes – 1,355 – produced from a single seed.
The tomato plant, called ‘Fateh’ by the family (which means ‘ultimate victory’) produced the amazing haul of tomatoes during the past summer, from its pot in a brick paved front courtyard in Coventry, UK. It nearly triples the previous tomato-producing record.
Surjit Kainth said he gave the tomato a “lot of care”, especially water during the summer, and regularly prayed beside it.
I hope he also saved some seed.
