Dramatic footage of the sad loss of the Heronswood thatched nursery Fork2Fork cafe in the recent Jan 14 grassfire on the Mornington Peninsula.
Fortunately large exotic trees surrounding the historic 1871 main house were great fire protectors, as were the local CFA, so the house and shop are unaffected and trading as usual, and the magnificent garden was virtually untouched.
Sadly Clive and Penny Blazey, former owners of Heronswood, lost many photographs and records in the fire as the thatched, mud-brick cafe building also housed Diggers Club administration.
Clive and Penny Blazey, Diggers Club and all at Heronswood thank so many of their customers who have sent messages of support and want you to stay and enjoy a light lunch on the pool lawn next time you visit. And they will rebuild!
