HMAA Laurels

GardenDrum has WON its first big-time award! The Horticultural Media Association of Australia has awarded GardenDrum its Website Laurel in a glam and glitzy ceremony in Melbourne last Tuesday.

An HMAA Award, as the awards are held only every 2 years, is a highly-coveted prize. It was very exciting to be a finalist but to then hear a roar of approval from the crowd of several hundred when GardenDrum was announced as the category winner was maybe even better than getting the engraved glass trophy itself.

It’s also recognition of the consistently high quality of journalism on GardenDrum from the many and varied authors who love to be published here.

My own blog here on GardenDrum also won the Social Media Laurel, so it was wonderful to have accolades as both a publisher AND as a writer/photographer.

Congratulations, Catherine! After all the work you put in right from the beginning in establishing this unique site, in spite of setbacks, you persevered to make GD what it is today!
Well done!

Such a well-deserved win for GardenDrum.

While print media struggles to keep afloat, it’s wonderful to have such a high-calibre site so readily accessible to garden lovers in Australia and afar.

Congratulations to you Catherine, and your entertaining contributors.

Catherine, congratulations from me too! GardenDrum is a great site with all sorts of fascinating, varied pieces. And, as an occasional contributor, of course I feel I can bask in the reflected glow of the award!
