Libraries aren’t just about books – Grow Pittsburgh, a community not-for-profit that encourages people to get gardening has started a new lending library for gardening tools.
Many people are moving to smaller homes and just don’t have the room to store lots of tools and equipment, or the pare funds to buy them. Appreciating this shift in local gardening, Grow Pittsburgh has all sorts of tools to lend – from large equipment like rotary tillers and wheelbarrows to just trowels and small gardening forks.
Anyone who is a member of Grow Pittsburgh ($40/month) can borrow the tools. The community lending library was made possible by a $24,000 donation from an anonymous benefactor.
