CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW GIVE AWAY:
In a move that’s set to excite green thumbs across Britain, a show garden at the 2017 Chelsea Flower Show will be gifted to one lucky community group.

The Greening Grey Britain Garden, designed by Nigel Dunnett, will be dismantled and rebuilt somewhere in the UK at the completion of the show.  It’s part of a wider Royal Horticultural Society campaign to promote the beautification of unused and neglected urban green spaces.

RHS Chief Horticulturist, Guy Barter, said

“If you live in an urban neighbourhood, a community group might want to turn an area of closely mown grass into a garden that will provide more resources for wildlife.   Or Parents may come together to make an area of a school’s grounds into a garden – there are numerous opportunities.”

The RHS have called on any and all community groups to enter, be they hospitals, community centres or hospices.

Designer Nigel Dunnett added,

“The RHS Greening Grey Britain Garden demonstrates and celebrates the multiple benefits of plants and gardens in even the smallest of areas. It’s fantastic that this Garden will live on after RHS Chelsea to benefit a community.  We want to help make the winning plot an important and appreciated part of the local environment.”

To enter or find out more, visit Greening Grey Britain page on the RHS website, or send an email to GGBchelsea@rhs.org.uk.

Get your entry in order quickly!  Entries close 10pm on 16th of April 2017.
