National Gardening Week in Australia kicks off on 8 October and GardenDrum blogger Arno King will be speaking at the Brisbane Botanic Garden Mt Coot-tha – just one of the events happening around the country.

The inaugural Australian National Gardening Week will celebrate the simple joys of gardening and highlight the associated environmental, social and health benefits.

The new Australia-wide event is themed ‘Dig in & Celebrate’, and is open to people of all ages, as well as organisations, businesses, local communities, local councils and schools, to participate in and celebrate gardening in any way they choose.

The Friends of Brisbane Botanic Gardens & Sherwood Arboretum are holding a National Gardening Week Talk – Summer Vegie Gardening by Arno King – on Sunday, 8 October 2017. Arno will talk about maximising summer vegetable production, choosing varieties to suit the season, and top crops to grow over summer, and hold a Q&A session.

Check the What’s On Calendar at Garden Travel Hub or the Friends of Brisbane Botanic Gardens website for further details about the Summer Vegie Gardening Talk.
