AIPH members announce the City of Łódź in Poland will host the A1 Horticultural Exhibition

The City of Łódź in Poland has won the right to host the prestigious A1 World Horticultural Exhibition from April to September 2024. With a theme of ‘Nature of the City’ the exhibition aims to promote the sharing of experience and solutions for improving the quality of life in cities and introduce more sustainable development focused on the use of living green landscapes and green spaces.

The decision about the host city was made by members of the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) during the General Meeting in Melbourne, Australia on March 21

Covering an area of some 75 hectares, the exhibition will be held in central Łódź which lies in the centre of Poland just west of Warsaw.

Łódź Mayor, Hanna Zdanowska, welcomed the news. “This is one of the most beautiful days of my presidency, one of the most beautiful moments of my life – Łódź amongst the most unique cities in the world. EXPO Horticultural 2024 brings a lot of greenery, more beautiful parks, mini gardens, friendly streets, new trees, squares. This is a better city for all inhabitants, for all of us.”

International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) President, Bernard Oosterom believes the exhibition will have a major impact on the city and play a key role in demonstrating the power of plants to cities all over the world. AIPH has the responsibility for the approval of International Horticultural Exhibitions.
