MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW CANCELLED
Due to recent guidance from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) in light of the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation which advises against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, show organisers regret to share the 2020 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show has been cancelled.
This decision was made after careful consideration with the health and safety of everyone involved remaining a top priority.
Glenn Fenton, Chairman of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show says: “Due to recent guidance from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) in light of the evolving COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation advising against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, we regret to share the 2020 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show presented by Lawn Solutions Australia will not take place.
“We thank our attendees, exhibitors, partners and staff for their support and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the show in 2021,” he says.
A release from the Nursery & Gardening Industry Victoria goes on to say:
“We appreciates there are multiple implications to you and your business. Event organisers will be in touch to have a detailed dialogue and formulate a plan.
“To exhibitors we appreciate all your hard work and commitment in the lead-up to this year’s Show. To everyone who purchased tickets full refunds will be actioned as soon as possible. We thank you all for your ongoing support and understanding.”
