Sydney open courtyards: well-known garden designer, Peter Nixon, and fellow plantsman Ian McMaugh are opening their spectacular, tiny inner-city courtyard gardens, for Open Gardens Australia on Sunday 25 Nov 10am-4.30pm.

If you’ve only a small space – or any part of your garden that you want to really shine with tough and durable, but out-of-the-ordinary plants suited to Sydney’s cool sub-tropical climate, you must see these gardens.
There will be plants for sale from both Ian Percy of Florez Nursery and Ian McMaugh (but be early!), Deirdre Mowat’s fabulous ‘Meet the Acanthaceae family‘ book and a feast of colourful and unusual plants to discover. And you must see the epiphytic transformation of Ian’s back gates into a vertical garden stunner.
