Vertical gardens are still being featured but edibles have disappeared from most of the new-style gardens.

Miniature gardens like this detailed ‘Private Realm of Marie Antoinette‘ by Two Green Thumbs, displayed at the Northwest F&G Show last month fit well with the recently revived craze for terrariums. Miniature garden specialist Janit Calvo has created a carpet of plants, chair cushion and tiny water garden using Irish moss, miniature acorus and dwarf conifer specimens. Model buildings and tiny ornaments complete the delicate details of this fantasy world.
