Open Gardens Australia and the University of Melbourne have joined forces to bring you a fabulous 3 day Summer School for Gardeners at Melbourne’s Burnley Campus during January 2014.
The FULL 3 DAY intensive program from 22-24 January 2014 includes seminars, hands-on workshops and garden tours, featuring a host of well-known speakers like Tim Entwisle, Steven Wells, Teena Crawford, Phillip Johnson, John Raynor, Carolyn Blackman, Frances Saunders, Chris England, Sandra MacMahon and Andrew Laidlaw.
OGA chief executive Liz White said the program has been designed to cater for gardeners at all levels and was aimed at honing their skills and building horticultural knowledge.
“This is a unique opportunity for garden lovers as we have gathered together a wide range of talented professionals who will be delivering lectures and running practical, hands-on workshops over the three days,” she said.
“There will also be a number of sessions where participants can ask the experts questions that are of specific interest to them as well as daily guided walks through the magnificent gardens at Melbourne University’s Burley campus. We have really tried to cover all bases and provide people with an inspiring and educative experience.”
Cost is $690 for 3 days 22-24 January 2014, including lunch, morning and afternoon teas, handbook and sample bag. Members of Friends of Open Gardens Australia get a special $600 price ($90 saving). And as it’s only $48/year to join the OGA Friends, I know what I’d be doing…..!
