Garden Wildlife Health, a huge citizen project to uncover the true health of Britain’s wildlife has begun.

The partnership between 4 key organisations, the Zoological Society of London, the British Trust for Ornithology, Froglife, and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, wants Britons to check their garden for wildlife and whether it appears healthy. The overall numbers of several important UK animals, such as hedgehogs, green finches and frogs are already down but whether disease is playing a major role, compared to habitat destruction, is not yet certain.

All gardeners are encouraged to check their gardens for wildlife and report any sick or dead animals to Garden Wildlife Health
