While the recent Sydney hailstorm damaged buildings, spare a thought for those gardeners throughout the Inner West whose little courtyard gardens were seriously trashed.

The small, angular-shaped hail acted like shot, blasting holes through larger leaves and shredding smaller ones. Many plants are completely denuded of leaves and the softer stems are crushed.

While the plants will recover, for some it will take a full year of growth to get back to looking lush and beautiful once more.
