The UK’s Chartered Institute of Horticulture has announced the finalists for its prestigious Young Horticulturist of the Year 2015. How would you stack up against these young Whiz Kids’ knowledge? Try this quick quiz….
Entrants must be under 30 years old and either be working as, or studying to become, a horticulturist. Each has to sit a number of tests, including a 40 question multiple choice knowledge test.
Regional winners are then quizzed by a Question Master and, for some questions, must be ready on their buzzers as the speed of answering is part of the scoring. There are 3 plant identification rounds and 8 rounds on specific areas of horticulture such as pests and diseases.

The Grand Final will be held on May 8, 2015 at Barrington Court, with the winner awarded the £2,500 Percy Thrower Travel Bursary.
