The International Festival of Landscape Architecture in Canberra in October 2016 has announced that its creative director is Professor Richard Weller.
Australia-born Weller, who is currently Chair of Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania was, in partnership with Vlad Sitta, a designer of the controversial Garden of Australian Dreams at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra. He has won more than 30 prizes in international design competitions, authored 4 books and published over 90 academic papers.
The Asia-Pacific Congress of the International Festival of Landscape Architecture (IFLA) will include a research summit, student charrette, Welcome Reception, the two- day IFLA Asia-Pacific Regional Congress, the AILA National Awards Gala Dinner, public talks, tours and exhibitions. It expects to attract 500 delegates from Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
The IFLA is hosted by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture (AILA), a national body representing 2,500 landscape architects throughout Australia.
