An Australian “High Line” contender? The Victorian Government is calling for opinions about converting this bridge, possibly to an urban oasis inspired by New York’s famous High Line.
As part of the Chandler Highway Upgrade, the existing Chandler Highway bridge will be converted to a shared user path, with room above and beneath for two new community spaces. The government is inviting everyone to participate by suggesting ideas for its use.
Proposals so far include community gardens, parks, playgrounds and open spaces inspired by New York’s famous High Line, a 2.3 km park in Manhattan built on an elevated section of a disused railroad.
