Eden Unearthed

Eden Unearthed‘, a NEW Sydney garden festival featuring installations by artists and sculptors is calling for submissions.

To be created on 30 sites throughout the 2.5 hectare Eden Gardens complex in Macquarie Park in Sydney’s north, Eden Unearthed will be along the lines of similar art-installation garden festivals in France at Chateau Chaumont-sur-Loire and also in Canada at Reford Gardens. All works will be on display for 6 months.

Artists are invited to submit proposed works, including light works and moving image artworks and projections, audio art and 3D pieces to reimagine our outdoor gardens.

Says Eden Gardens Managing Director Simon Ainsworth:

“We hope to inspire exhibiting artists who appreciate the uniqueness of this site: its fantastic gardens and views into Lane Cove National Park, and the wonderful community that interacts with Eden Gardens. We’re offering artists from around the country the chance to exhibit their installation sculpture here as part of a spring spectacular. We hope to attract around 30 artists and inspire them to reimagine the garden through the theme of Eden Unearthed.”

The event will launch on 6 October 2016 and run through until March 2017, allowing great exposure for both up and coming and established artists. A generous pool of stipends is also available upon application and successful selection.
