Dinner Time DOOM! The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mount Tomah in NSW is celebrating all things carnivorous in January with great holiday fun for kids 7-12 years.
Says Curator Manager Greg Bourke:
“These plants have such charm about them and they are increasingly becoming recognised as a critical part of our natural ecosystem. Australia has some 235 native carnivorous plant varieties, but people still know so little about them! So drop by, browse the collections and get involved with this special event. What better way to learn about these voracious little beasts living in our own backyard?”
Led by one of the Garden’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable educators, kids will go on a fun adventure to the Bog Garden to find out how carnivorous plants lure and eat their prey! They’ll play games, make craft and plant their own little pet carni to take home and feed flies.
Fridays 13 Jan and 20 Jan, and Wednesday 25 January
